Keeping in view the aims and expectation of the founders, Islamic Banking Center has following objectives to achieve:

  1. To develop of studies and courses in the field of Islamic banking.
  2. To quest for preparing the appropriate curricula in Islamic banking studies.
  3. To establish and develop a robust communication among the students and researchers in the disciplines of accounting, banking, economics, finance and law to achieve mutual integration for the development of Islamic banking and finance products.
  4. To facilitate Islamic banking and finance industry by providing highly skilled, trained and competent human resource.
  5. To provide academic, professional and technical support and advices to the member academics and students of the university so that the center becomes part of the academic fabric of the university.
  6. To be an incubator for train young researcher for conducting case studies, projects and empirical studies in the field of Islamic banking.
  7. To publish and disseminate research, working paper and policy papers for the growth of knowledge about Islamic banking.
  8. To be a platform for academic discussions, conferences, scholarly debates, research meetings, training seminars and workshops for sharing, enhancing and disseminating the knowledge about Islamic banking.
  9. To develop and integrate regional and international linkage with the research and study institutions and Islamic banking industry.
  10. To be a facilitator for developing synergies between the quality academic research and industry practices.
  11. To provide a network of regional and global outreach for advancing the theory and research on Islamic banking. In this regards, leading researchers and practitioner of Islamic banking will be invited for lectures and teachings.
  12.  To establish an electronic library and resource center where the latest publications in the form of academic publications, books, market reports, periodicals, and research journals will be available to the researchers.
  13. To provide advisory and consultancy services to the Islamic banking industry.
  14. To perform any other activity that would contribute for the promotion and development of Islamic banking industry in the country.       

About IBC

The establishment of Islamic Banking Center (IBC) at the department of economics is another leading and appreciable initiative of towards achieving the excellence in the research and development at King Saud University. The Center is established with the generous funding donated by the Shaikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, Chairman and Founder of Dallah Al-Baraka Holding Foundation, as an expression of his keen interest in the promotion and facilitation of Islamic banking and finance studies and practices.
